Local Police
The Local Police are part of the Northumbria Police's Sunderland City Area Command. This link takes you to their site which contains contact details and details of the work the force does with ethnic communities

Hendon Task Force police team are located in South Durham Court. The Team do not have a web site but can be contacted at the phone number opposite. Any of the police officers based there would be happy to help. The list below shows what the police do and get involved with locally.

Nominated officers from Hendon Task Force liase closely with three local primary schools Hudson Road, Valley Road, Grangetown - giving talks and arranging visits to Gillbridge Avenue Police Station

High profile crime prevention initiative is carried out by Hendon Task Force visiting individual homes and marking property with Selectamark

Community Beat Manager utilises a community room within Ashbrooke Residents Association

Community Beat Manager attends local school assemblies, award days and out of school activities - also local children's clubs ie scouts

During the weekly planning meetings particular areas of the area command are identified as crime and disorder hotspots and patrols are directed to those areas in the relevant time bands - often these patrols are of a high visibility nature
