Each term I always try to share good news with you and this term is no exception! We try to feature new and exciting courses in each edition and for the first time ever we are offering NVQ Apprenticeships in both Playwork and in Children’s Care Learning and Development at Levels 2 and 3.

We are also offering new courses in Management Training and to prepare you for the changes to OFSTED regulations we are introducing information sharing sessions. These will summarise the main changes in OFSTED’s role to register and inspect all childcare settings across the City and you will also be introduced to the Self Evaluation Form (SEF) which will shortly be in circulation.

Another piece of good news is that we have increased the amount of supply cover funding for staff attending our courses from Private, Voluntary and Independent Settings and to non-teaching staff in Maintained provision. The new rates are explained at the back of your programme in the General Section.

Just a quick reminder of the booking procedures: when we receive your booking form and if your application is successful, you will receive a letter confirming this. Please do not assume that you have a place without a letter of confirmation, if your name is not on our register you will be turned away.

Our training rooms are built to hold a specific number of people and if they are over-filled we are in breach of the health and safety regulations laid down by the owners of the building.

Finally please take the time to read your training programme thoroughly and enjoy the diverse range of
training contained within and remember to complete your evaluation forms at the end of each course that
you attend. We do take your comments and suggestions very seriously and use them to shape future editions.
