Doxford Park Estate Forum hold a weekly coffee morning in Croftside House on
a Monday (excluding Bank Holidays) between the hours of 10.00am to 12noon.
It is in this beautiful common room, where there is a relaxed and friendly
atmosphere that we have bingo, raffles and arrange day trips, but most of
all we have a laugh and everyone is made welcome.
A Housing manager is always present to deal with any problems you may have
and is dealt with confidently.

Music makers ladies choir meet each Monday evening at 7pm till 9pm at the Jubilee Centre, Allendale Road, Farringdon. Following a brief audition by our Musical Director, anyone with a reasonable voice is able to join the choir of 38 ladies. We provide concerts throughout the area to varied organisations. We are also available to sing at Weddings. We charge £40.00 per concert and the proceeds from these events are distributed amongst local charitable organisations at our annual Charity concert in September.

Volunteer Centre Sunderland provides support at a local level for individual volunteers and volunteer involving organisations.
Brokerage
The Volunteer Centre’s primary function is to match both individuals and groups interested in volunteering with appropriate opportunities in the local community. The Centre holds information on a comprehensive range of opportunities. We offer potential volunteers support and advice matching their motivation to volunteer with appropriate volunteering opportunities.
Good practice development
The Volunteer Centre promotes good practice in working with volunteers to all volunteer involving organisations. The Centre facilitates the Sunderland Volunteering Forum, which has at present over 90 member organisations. The Forum meets to discuss general volunteering issues, share good practice advice and other information regarding volunteers and volunteering.
Develop volunteering opportunities
The Volunteer Centre works in close partnership with statutory, voluntary and private sector agencies as well as community groups and faith groups to develop local volunteering opportunities. The Centre understands the potential offered by the local communities and work with them to realise this potential. The Volunteer Centre will target specific groups which face barriers to volunteering.
Policy Response and Strategic Development
Volunteer Centres identify proposals or legislation that may impact
on volunteering. It will lead and/or participate in campaigns on
issues that affect volunteers or volunteering. Volunteer Centres
campaign proactively for a more volunteer-literate and volunteer-friendly
climate.

and national level.
