A Favour to ask, it only takes a minute.... Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "donating a mammogram" for free (pink window in the middle).
This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising. Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know. www.thebreastcancersite.com

TIME TOGETHER
Can you speak English? Do you know your way around Sunderland? Do you know how to use public transport, access the internet or where to play or watch football? Do you know how to apply for jobs? If the answer to any or all of the questions is yes, you could be a friend or mentor in our exciting new project. The Time Together project links local people with refugees so that they can work together to improve community integration, education and employment prospects of the refugee and the image of refugees in the media and local community. We ask you to commit to only five hours a month and you get full training and support and expenses are covered.
SUE RYDER CARE is a leading provider of Hospice Care, Neurological and Home Care. The charity shops in Sea Road and Southwick are looking to recruit new volunteers, duties to include steaming, pricing, sorting, processing, cleaning, merchandising and any other relevant tasks. No special skills required as all training will be given as well as ongoing support.
All volunteers are required to provide references and to allow half a day for health and safety training before starting main duties.
Northumberland Tyne & Wear NHS Trust is looking to recruit volunteers. Most volunteers offer 2 to 3 hours per week although this is flexible. It is important however that a regular commitment is given and that attendance is as arranged. The role of the volunteer is varied and some of the requests would be: to act as a befriender, visit service users on the wards during their stay in Hospital or during attendance to Day Units, greet and direct visitors, assist staff to enable service users to participate in social and recreational activities, make refreshments, tidy and maintain gardens and assist patients in gardening activities also to support staff with patients outings within and beyond the hospital grounds.
If you are interested in any of the above opportunities please contact the Volunteer Centre Sunderland on (0191) 567 8902 or call into 4 Toward Road, City Centre, Sunderland. Opening hours are Monday to Friday am 4pm. A postal application service is also available. Alternatively email us at: sunderlandvc@aol.com or visit www.doit.org.uk
